I'm Six Weeks Old

Today is my birthday - again! I like this weekly birthday stuff! I just wish I kept getting presents!

Here's the official birthday picture!

Mary even made me get a bath for this one! It wasn't really a bath, she just filled the sink up with water and rinsed me off. It was a great adventure. I didn't like it at first, but then I realized that the warm water felt pretty good. Then she combed me and I looked like a little puff ball. Sheesh - how embarrassing. A canyon dog can't be a puff ball! I'm gonna have to put an end to that!

Here's how much I've grown!

This hand picture of John and me is now a tradition!

I was sleeping through the night, but now I'm not. It's not my fault! I have to get up to pee! Mary is good - she wakes up as soon as I start to whine a little. But after I go, I want to keep playing and she puts me back to bed! I hate that! But I must still be tired because I fall right back to sleep.

I've discovered being outside is the greatest fun of all. Yesterday I walked all the way up to the mailbox to get the mail and today I walked all the way up there to get the newspaper. Mary will take pictures when we get the mail this afternoon so you can see how far it is! Some really big trucks went by and scared me, but I was brave and kept tugging on the newspaper anyway!

John is my greatest play buddy!

My favorite toy so far is the alien porcupine! I squeaked it once, and I keep trying, but I can't quite figure out how I did it. Mary keeps saying I'll get it again if I keep trying.

Mary says tomorrow will be a big adventure. We have a veterinary appointment. I'm not sure what it means, but I hope it's fun. She says we're going to get a little harness so we can start learning to go for walks. Not sure about that one!

Well, I'm tired. I still sleep more than I play, but in the evenings I'm up for a couple hours at a time! During the day, I'd rather nap. And that would be NOW!

See you later!
